Miami International Airport International Traffic Surpasses JFK; FLL Looks Even More Attractive

At Fort Lauderdale Fishing Charters, we advise all our customers to fly into Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) if possible, Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) second, and Miami International Airport  (MIA) third.

The biggest reason for this advice is that FLL is located just moments from our Fort Lauderdale deep sea fishing charters. But it’s also because we, and our customers, often experience delays when flying into MIA.

Recently, MIA announced that traffic was up a whopping 9.5% from last year, which sets a new record. Looking closer at the figures, international traffic alone increased by 11%, catapulting MIA past JFK Airport in New York for most international flights. This is great news for Miami economically, but not great news for travellers, since the added traffic almost certainly means more flights.

If you’re going on a fishing charter in Fort Lauderdale and flights to FLL are not available, we recommend PBI in West Palm Beach as a fall back. PBI is about an hour away from our Fort Lauderdale Fishing Charters, but if you’re planning on renting a car it’s really not a bad drive. Just hop on 95 and you’ll be shark fishing in Fort Lauderdale or Sailfishing in Fort Lauderdale on one of our Fort Lauderdale fishing boats in no time.
