Fort Lauderdale Air Show a Partial Success

The Fort Lauderdale Air Show (formerly the Air & Sea Show) returned this year, but was only a partial success due to mother nature misbehaving. The first day of the show went off mostly unaffected, although some acts such as the Red Bull stunt helicopter were canceled due to high winds.

The finale performance by the Thunderbirds was called off midway due to an approaching storm.

The entire show was a total rain out and was called off on Sunday as were several Fort Lauderdale Fishing charters that were planned. Only one Fort Lauderdale Fishing Charter customer was affected and decided to reschedule his trip for another weekend.

They don’t call this the sunshine state for nothing, but unfortunately there are days where the weather just doesn’t cooperate. Fort Lauderdale is a tourists dream and even on rainy days there are plenty of things to do in Fort Lauderdale. We think the best rainy day activity is the IMAX theater located at the Museum of Discovery and Science in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The theater features both education, documentaries as well as feature films that immerse you in IMAX’s signature size and sound.
